Materials: Karon simply soft grey Heather

Size G crochet hook

Scraps of black and peach yarn.

Yarn needle

Stuffing


Body: With grey, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. (mark ends of rnds, do not join rounds). (6 sc.)

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around (12 sc).

Rnd 3: (sc in 1 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around (18 sc).

Rnd 4: (sc in 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around (24 sc).

 Rnds 5 - 18: Sc even around. (24 sc).


Begin stuffing body

(Dec Rnds) Rnd 19: ( sc in 2 sc, sc 2 tog) around (18 sc).

Rnd 20: (sc in 1 sc, sc 2 tog ) around (12 sc).

Rnd 21: Stuff firmly before closing (sc 2 tog) around (6 sc). Sl st every 2nd st to close, end off.

Legs: (make 4) With black start at hooves, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook (6 sc).

Rnd 2: Sc in each sc around (6 sc). Change to grey.

Rnds 3 - 8: Sc even around (6 sc). Stuffing as you go. At end of rnd 8, end off leaving a length of yarn to sew legs to body.

Neck: Ch 8, sl st tog to form a ring. Ch 1, sc in each ch around (8 sc).

Rnd 2:  sc in each sc around (8 sc).

Rnd 3: Sc in each sc around (8 sc).

Rnd 4: sc in 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc, twice (10 sc).

Rnd 5: Sc in 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc, twice (12 sc).

Rnd 6:  sc in 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc, twice (14 sc). End off leaving length to sew onto body. Stuff neck

Head: Ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook (6 sc).

Rnd 2: Sc in 1 sc, 2 sc in next sc, around (9 sc).

Rnd 3: sc even.

Rnd 4: Sc in 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc (12 sc)

Rnds 5 - 7: Sc even (12 sc)

Rnd 8: sc in 4 sc, 2 sc in each of next 4 sc, sc in last 4 sc. (16 sc).

Rnds 9 - 11: Sc even (16 sc). Begin stuffing head.

Rnd 12: Sc in 3 sc, 2 sc tog, 3 times, sc in last sc. (13 sc).

Rnd 13: Sc in 2 sc, 2 sc tog, 3 times, sc in last sc (10 sc).

Rnd 14: Sc in 1 sc, sc 2 sc tog, 3 times, sc in last sc (7 sc). Sl st every st tog. Break off, sew head to top of neck. Sew legs onto body.

Tail: At top rear of goat make 3 sc into body, ch 1, turn.

Row 2: 3 sc across, ch 1, turn.

Row 3: Dec, sc in next sc, ch 1, turn.

Row 4: Dec and end off.

Udder: with Flesh or light peach, ch 2, work 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook.

Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each around (12 sc).

Work 2 rnd even, end off leaving long tail for sewing.

Teats: (make 2) Attach peach yarn to one inside part of udder with sl st, ch 5 and sl st into same place. End off.

Hide ends, attach yarn to other side and repeat for 2nd teat. Stuff udder and sew in place.

Omit udder if making Billy Goat.

Ears: (make 2): Ch 5, sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch to end, going down opposite side of ch, sc in each ch to end. End off leaving length for sewing. Sew ears to top of head.


Horns: (make 2) Ch 2 with black. 4 sc in 2nd ch from hook (4 sc). Sc around 3 rows even. End off and sew to top of head.

Features: With black yarn (0r use small black beads) embroider eyes, pulling slightly to indent face to make more narrow. Embroider nose and mouth.

 If making a Billy goat omit udder and place several body colored strands under chin for goatee.

Rd 2: ch 1, 6 sc in ring, join.

Rd 3: ch 1, 1 sc in s/p, 2 sc in each sc around, join.(12 sc + the stitch for joining)

Rd 4:  ch1, 1 sc in s/p, * sc next 2 sc together around, join. Fasten off, attach white.(6 sc + the stitch for joining)

Rd 5:  ch 1, 1sc in s/p, 2 sc in each sc around, join.(12 sc + the stitch for joining)

Rd 6:  ch 1, 1sc in s/p, * 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next, repeat from * around, end 1sc in last SC, join.  (18 sc)

Rd 7:  ch 2(does not count as a stitch
), 1 dc in s/p, 1 dc in each sc, around, join. (18 dc)

Rd 8:  ch 2(counts as a stitch
), 1FPS around first dc, * 1 dc in next dc, 1 FPS around same dc, repeat from * around, join. ( 18 dc 18 posts)

Rd 9:  ch 2, Post around post, 1 dc in next dc, repeat from * around,
join.( 18 dc 18 posts)
Rd10: ch 2 working in back loops, dc around each post and dc, (70 dc)

Begin working in rows:
Row 11:   divide for openings, ch 2, * post around next dc, 1 dc in next 2 dc, repeat from * across, end 1 dc in last stitch, turn. (13 posts, 26 dc)


Row 12:  ch 2, BPS around first post, * 1dc in next 2dc, 1 Bps around next post stitch, repeat from * , end 1 dc in turning ch 2, turn.(13 posts, 26dc)

Row 13:  ch 2,  FPS around first post, * 1 dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, FPS around next post, repeat from *, end 1 dc in last dc, turn.( 13 posts, 38 dc, 3 dc between posts now)

Rows 18-22: repeat rows 12-16, at end of row 22, fasten off white.

Begin working in rounds again.

Rd 23:  attach white to beginning of row 23, ch 2, 1 FPS around fist post, *1dc in next 3 dc, FPS around, next post, repeat from * across first half , 1dc in turning ch, join second half by 2 dc in next dc, 1 FPS around first post ** 1 dc in next 3 dc, 1 FPS around next post, repeat from ** around, end 2 dc in dc after last post, join. Doily:
Rd. 1: With white, ch 6 to form ring. Ch 3, (1DC, ch 1 in ring,) 12 times. Slip stitch to 2nd ch
of beginning ch 3. (13 chain ones spaces.)

Rd 2: Ch 2, FPS around base of THIS ch2, * 1dc in ch 1 sp, FPS around post of next dc, repeat from * around. End slip stitch to beg. Ch 2. (13 post stitch & 13 dc. Beg chain 2 counts as one dc.)

Rd 3: Ch 2, FPS around post next post, 2 dc in next dc, FPS around next post stitch around. (You'll have 2 dc between each post stitch). End, post stitch around next post stitch, 1 dc, slip stitch to top of beg ch2. (13 posts & 26 dc.)

Rd 4: Ch 2 FPS around post stitch, * 3 dc, FPS around post stitch, repeat from * around. End FPS around next post stitch, 2 dc, slip stitch to top of beg ch2. (13 posts & 39 dc)

This yarn is not made any more, but you can use 4 to 6 strands of worsted weight yarn held together.

8   balls 165 daisy ombre
3   balls 9943 White or use Red Heart worsted weight yarn (1 8 oz skein white, 2 variegated 16 oz skein) CHECK WEIGHT OF COTTON AGAINST WORSTED WEIGHT YARN

Q Hook

Stitches Used:
Slip stitch ~~s/s
Half  Double Crochet ~~ hdc  Yo, insert hook in stitch, yo, draw through, yo, draw through all 3 lps on hook.

With 2 stands of Daisy ombre and one of White held together, ch 2,

Rd 1  7 hdc in first ch, join with slip stitch, ch 2,

Rd 2  1 hdc in same place(s/p), 2 hdc in each hdc around, join w/s/s/, ch 2

Rd 3  1 hdc in s/p, 2 hdc in each hdc around, join w/s/s/, ch 2

Rd 4 working in loop below back loop, 1 hdc in s/p, *1hdc in next 3 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc, repeat form * end, 2hdc in next stitch, 1 hdc in next  stitch, join w/s/s/, ch 2

You will need to know how to do:
slip stitch
single, half double and double crochet stitches
Front Post stitch.

You will need:
an F hook
(Art. 940) (size 5 thread)
about 5 balls of America's Best Cable Cotton in a solid color
About 3 balls of America's Best Cable Cotton in a variegated

 color.

Please note: this yarn is no longer being made, use any size 5
yarn or worsted weight yarn)
 
Four 1 inch buttons that will look good with the two colors above.
(you can use a bigger hook and yarn, but the project will be bigger)

Row 1: With main color, ch 21, work 1hdc in 2nd chain from hook, and in each chain across to last chain, work 5 hdc in this chain, work 1 hdc along other side of chain to last stitch, work 4 hdc in this stitch, join with slip stitch, ch 2, (47 hdc). Ch 2 counts as 1 hdc.
Row 2: 1hdc in same place, 1 hdc in next 19 hdc, 2 hdc in next 4 hdc, 1 hdc in next 19 hdc, 2 had in next 3 hdc, 1 hdc in base of ch 2, join with slip stitch, ch 2, (55 hdc)
Row 3: 1dc in same space, 2 dc in next hdc, 1 dc in next 18 hdc, 2 dc in next 10 hdc, 1 dc in next 18 hdc, 2 dc in next 6 hdc, 1 dc in base of ch 2, join with slip stitch, ch 2, (85dc)

Row 7: Working in the loop below back loop, 1 hdc in each hdc around. Join with slip stitch, ch 2.
Row 8: working in both loops now, 1 dc in same place, and in each hdc around, join with slip stitch, ch.2.
Row 9: working in loop below back loop, 1 dc in same place, work 1 dc in each stitch around, join with slip stitch, ch 2, drop main ( purple) color, attach 2nd color. (Aztec). You should have 105 dc now.
Row 10: 1 dc in same place, and in next dc, *1 FPS around next 2 dc, 1 dc in next 3 dc, repeat from * around, join with slip stitch, drop Aztec, attach purple, (you should have 21 groups of 2 FPS with 3 dc between them.)
Row 11: 1 dc in same place, work 1 dc over each dc and a FPS over each FPS.
Row 12: repeat row 11:
Row 13: repeat row 11, drop purple and pick up Aztec.
Row 14: with Aztec repeat row 11. drop Aztec,
Row 15: with purple repeat row 11
Row 16: repeat row 11
Row 17: repeat row 11, drop purple.
Row 18: with Aztec repeat row 11. Drop Aztec.

Row 19: with purple repeat row 11.
Row 20: repeat row 11.
Row 21: repeat row 11, fasten off purple
Row 22: with Aztec, repeat row 11. 
Row 23: with Aztec, *ch 3, skip 2 dc, sc in next stitch, repeat from * around end with ch 2, 1 dc in base of first ch 3, mark with safety pin, so you will know where the beginning of the next round will be.
Row 24: * ch 3, sc in next ch 3 space, repeat from * around, end with ch 2, 1 dc  at base of first ch 3 space.
Row 25: * ch 4, sc in next ch 3, space, repeat from * around, end with ch 2, 1 dc
at base of first ch 4 space.

Row 26: * ch 4, sc in next ch 4, space, repeat from * around, end with ch 2, 1 dc  at base of first ch 4 space.
Rows 27 to 37:  repeat row 26. 
Rows 38 to 41: repeat row 26, faster row 41, fasten off Aztec.
 Row 42:  With purple, ch 2, 2dc in this ch 4 space, * 3dc in next ch 4 space, repeat from * around, join with slip stitch.
Row 43: ch 2, 1 dc in each dc around join with slip stitch, fasten off purple.
Set aside.


Handles  
Row 1: with purple, ch 6, 1 dc in 3rd chain form hook, and in each chain across row, ch 2, turn (5 dc)
Row 2: *1 FPS in next 3 dc, 1 dc in top of turning chain,  ch2, turn. (1 dc, 3 posts, 1 dc) turning chain counts as 1 dc.
Row 3: 1 dc in same place, 1 dc in next 2 post stitches, 1 dc in top of turning chain, ch 2, turn.
Repeat rows 2 and 3:  24 times, ending with row 3, fasten off, weave in the ends of yarn, ridge side is the right side, make 2.
Finishing:
Lay bag flat on bag, sew handles to bag at sides with first ridge below purple band at top of bag. Sew on buttons, and you are done.

MATERIALS:
J. & P. Coats or Clark's O.N.T. Pearl Cotton, Size 5:  2 balls of No. 1
   White and 1 ball of No. 48 Hunter's Green, or

J.& P. Coats "Knit-Cro-Sheen": 1 ball each of No. 1 White and No. 48 Hunter's Green, and J.& P. Coats or Clark's O.N.T. Best Six Cord Mercerized Crochet, Size 30:

SMALL BALL:
J.& P. Coats ~ 1 ball of No. 9 Yellow, or
CLARK'S O.N.T. ~ 1 ball of No 9 Yellow, or J. & P. Coats Big Ball Best Six Cord Mercerized Crochet, Size 30: 1 ball of No. 9 Yellow, or

Clark's Big Ball Three Cord Mercerized Crochet, Size 30:  1 ball of No. 9 Yellow.
Steel Crochet Hooks No. 7 and 10.

A bridal garter.

GLADIOLA (Make 3)    

Starting at center with White, ch 10. Join with sl st to form a ring.

FIRST PETAL . .. 1st rd: Ch 10, Sc in 2nd ch from hook, Sc in next ch, hdc in next ch, dc in next 4 ch, hdc in next 2 ch, Sc in ring. Make 5 more Petals in same manner. Break off.

2nd rd: Attach White to last Sc and work around Petal as follows: * Holding hack on hook the last loop of each dc, make a de in next 3 sts, thread over and draw through all loops on hook (2 dc decreased), dc in next 2 sts, half dc in next 2 sts, Sc in next 2 sts, at tip make Sc, ch 3 and sc; Sc in next 2 sts, hdc in next 2 sts, dc in next 2 sts, dec 2 dc, Sc in the Sc between Petals. Repeat from * around remaining petals. Join and break off.

BUD (Make 5) . . .

1st row: With White, ch 4, in 4th ch from book make 2 dc and 1 tr. Cb 3, turn.

2nd row: Skip first tr, dec 1 dc, ch 3, sl St in top of decreased dc, ch 3, sl St in top of starting chain. Break off.

STEM AND CALYX (Make 5)...

With Green make a chain 1 1/2 inches long, tr in 4th ch from hook, ch 3, sl St in tr, eb 4, sl st in same place as tr, ch 4, tr in same place as sl St, ch 3, sl St in tr, ch 4, sl St in same place as tr, sl St in each ch across. Break off. Sew Bud to Calyx.

STAMEN (Make 3) With Yellow, * ch 9, * * (thread over, insert hook in 3rd ch from hook) 3 times; thread over and draw through all loops on hook (dc cluster made), ch 4. Repeat from * * once more, ending with ch 6, sl St in first ch of ch-9. Repeat from * 3 more times. Break off.

Sew Stamens to center of flower. Starch lightly and press.

Sew Flowers, Buds and Stems to garter.

Note: tr is a treble, yo twice, insert hook in stitch, yarn over and draw loop up, yo,(you should have 4 loops on hook) draw through first two loops, yo again, (Now 3 loops on hook) and draw through the next two loops only, yo again, and draw through the last two loops. Now you should have 1 loop on the hook.

BASKET:  

1 row     With Green ch 34, sc in 2nd St from hook, 1 sc in each remaining St of ch, ch 1, turn.

Repeat 2nd row twice.       

5th Row  Sl St in each of the next 5 sc, drop Green, attach Yellow and work 1 sc in each of the next 23 sc, ch 1, turn.

6th Row  1 sc in each sc, drop Yellow. When changing colors, always complete last half of St with next Color.

Next Row-Pick up Green and working in sc work 2 rows Green, 2 rows Yellow, 2 rows Green, 2 rows

17th Row ch 5, turn, dc in same space, *skip 1 sc,1 dc, ch 2, 1 dc (shell) in next sc, repeat from * across row.

18th Row ch 5, turn, dc in same space, *1 dc, ch 2,1 dc in 1st dc of next shell, repeat from * across row working a shell in 3rd St of end ch. Repeat last row 8 times, ch 4, turn.

27th Row 1dc, ch 1, 1 dc in 1st shell, sc in 1St dc of next shell, * 3 d C with ch 1 between each dc in center of next shell, sc in 1st dc of next shell, repeat from * across top ending with 3 dc with ch 1 between each dc in last shell, then work a row of sc down side of basket, work around lower edge in same pattern as across top and work in sc up opposite side, break thread.

HANDLE:  With Green ch 109, sc in 2nd St from hook,1 sc in each remaining St of ch, ch 4, turn.

2nd Row  dc in same Space, ch 1, dc in same space, ch 1,dc in same space, *skip 2 sc, sc in next sc, skip 2 sc, 4 dc with ch 1 between each dc in next sc, repeat from * across row, break thread. Sew in position as illustrated  leaving 5 scallops free at center.

FLOWER:  With Yellow ch 4, loin to form a ring, ch 1 and work 5 sc in ring, join, break Yellow. Attach Color,  *ch 2, 3 dc in same space, ch 2, sc in same Space,  sc in next sc, repeat from * 4 times, break thread.

All flowers are worked in same manner having 3 Blue, 3 Lavender, 3 Pink and 6 Yellow. The Yellow flowers have Green centers.

STEM:

      With Green ch 6, sl st between any 2 petals of flowers, ch 1, skip 1 st of ch, 1 sl st in each of the next 5 sts of ch, ch 8, sl st between any 2 petals of next flower of same color, ch 1, skip 1 st of ch, 1 sl st in each of the next 7 Sts, ch 6, sl St between any 2 petals of 3rd flower of same Color, ch 1, skip 1 st of ch, 1 sl St in each of the next 5 sts, break Green.

Join each Color in groups of 3 in same manner. Sew to top of basket as illustrated arranging Colors as desired having a Yellow group at each end of basket. Applique basket in position on pillow case about 1 inch above hemstitch at center. Work 2 more Yellow, 2 Pink and 2 Lavender flowers and sew in position as illustrated.


EDGE: With Green work a row of S C around hemstitched edge of pillow case, join, drop Green.

2nd Row With Yellow 1 sc in each sc, join, break Yellow.

3rd Row Pick up Green, ch 4, 4 dc in same space with ch 1 between each dc, * skip 3 sc, sc in next sc, skip 3 sc, 5 dc with ch 1 between each dc in next sc, repeat from * all around, break thread. Work another pillow case in same manner.

Freedom Pin

E Hook
Red Heart Red White and Blue variegated yarn.
Pin clasp:
hot glue

 
1)  Ch 30, fold around to form 1/2 bow, with 6 stitches, on right side and 7 sts on left side.turn, sc in second st from hook .( hang on to center of 1/2 bow so you don't loose loop, or secure with a safty pin). sc in next 5 sts. sc through two layers of loop to hold together. sc around loop.(13 sc) sc two layers together as before, sc in last 6 sts. sc 2 more times in last st. (3 sc)sc up foundation ch. around unworked loops of foundation ch. and down other side 2 sc in last st. end off weave in ends. take a piece of yarn about 6 in long and tie in a bow where the 1/2 bow meets in the center. cut the end of the tied bow even. glue the pin back on and you have your God Bless America Pin!

Penney's Picot Choker

This is a really cute choker that my sister Penney did for my list. Thank you so much for this donate to the blog!
 

 

 Materials:

Southmaid size 10 thread, any color, Size 5 crochet hook

Chain any length you need, for a 15" choker, chain 95., ch 1, turn.

Row 1: sc in each chain across to end, ch 1, turn.

Row 2: * sc in next 4 sc, ch 6, skip 3 sc,  Repeat from *  across row, ch 1, turn.

Row 3: *sc in next 4 sc, at the 6 ch space, sc each ch to  top of hoop, ch3, sc in same space (picot made), sc in each of remaining sc's of hoop, repeat from * across row, end sc in last remaining sc, fasten off.

Finishing:

At each end, ch about 8 to 10 sc, and add metal screw, tie off.
