Materials:

size 8 knitting needles

2 stitch markers

1 row counter

2 balls of cotton yarn, one in a solid color

Dishcloth # 1

with a variegated color, cast on 36.

Knit 6 rows

Next row k 3, place marker, purl 30 stitches, place marker, knit 3.

Next row, knit.

Repeat last two rows to row 43.

Knit 6 rows, bind off, weave in yarn ends.

Dishcloth #2

Using a solid color, cast on 35 stitches.

Rows 1 to 3, k1, p1 across row. On last row (3) decrease one st.

Rw 4: (on 34 stitches) k1, p1, k1, place marker, *yo, k2 tog, repeat from * to last 3 stitches, place marker, k 1, p 1, k1.

Row 5: k 1, p 1, k 1, p 28, k 1, p 1, k1.

Row 6 & 7, repeat row 5.

Repeat rows 4 to 7 until you have 10 ridges or desired length.

Now repeat rows 4 and 5 once.

Now k 1, p 1, k 1, inc 1 stitch before you get to the last 3 stitches.

Then k 1, p 1, for 2 more rows, bind off
