This is an easy pattern to knit, no yarn overs, increases, or decreases, just knit and purl stitches, no chart needed.

Materials:
Size 8 knitting needles

1 Ball Peaches and Crème Crochet Cotton Art. 930H  #41 Light Grape

2 stitch markers

It would also help to use a row counter.

Cast on 30 stitches

Note: slip markers (SM, ) has you come to them. 

Place marker = pm
 
Row 1:  k1, p1, k1.

Row 2:  p1, k1, p1.

Row 3:  k1, p1, k1.

Row 4:   P1, K1, P1, pm,  k 7, * p 2, k 6, P 2, k 7, pm,  K1, P1, K1,

Row 5: K1, P1, K1, SM,  k 2, * p 4, k 4* 2x, P4, k 2,  SM, P1, K1, P1, 

Row 6: P1, K1, P1, SM, k1,  * p 2, k 2 * repeat across row to 1 stitch before marker, k 1, SM, , K1, P1, K1, 

Row 7: K1, P1, K1, SM,  k 1, p 1, * k 4, p 4 * 2 times, k 4, p 1, k 1,  SM, P1, K1, P1, 

Row 8: P1, K1, P1, SM,   k 3, * p 2, k 6 *, 2x, P2, k 3,   SM, K1, P1, K1, 

Row 9: K1, P1, K1, SM,  k 1, * p 6, k 2 * repeat across row to 1 stitch before marker, k 1,  SM, P1, K1, P1, 

Row 10: P1, K1, P1, SM,  k 1, p 1, * k 4, p 4 * 2 times, k 4, p 1, k 1,  SM, K1, P1, K1, 

Row 11: K1, P1, K1, SM,  k 3, * p 2, k 2 * repeat across row to 3 stitch before marker, k 3, SM,  P1, K1, P1, 

Row 12: P1, K1, P1, SM,  k 2, * p 4, k 4 * 2x, P4, k 2, SM,  K1, P1, K1, 

Row 13: K1, P1, K1,  SM, k 1, p 2, * k 2, p 6 * 2 times, k 2, p 2, k 1, SM,    P1, K1, P1, 

Repeat rows 4 to 13 for a total of  4 times, then, row 2, and 3 once. Bind off in pattern using row 2. Weave in the ends.

Materials:
G Hook
1 ball cotton yarn, any color

Chain 33.

Set up row:  Starting in 4th ch from hook, work 1 dc in each dc across, ch 2, turn.

Row 1: 1 dc in next 2dc, ch 1,  Skip next dc, 1 dc in next dc, * ch 1, skip 1 dc, 1 dc in next dc, repeat from * across row, end ch 1, skip 1 dc, 1 dc in next 2 dc,  1 dc in top of turning ch, ch 2, turn.

Row 2: 1 dc in each dc and ch-1 space across row, end 1 dc in top of turning ch, ch 2 turn.  

Repeat rows 1 and 2  7 times ending with row 2, fasten off weave in the ends.

Rd 1: with Variegated ch 4,  11 dc in 3rd ch from hook, join. ( ch 3 counts as 1 dc, 12dc )

Rd 2: ch 6, * 1 dc in next dc, ch 3, repeat from * around, join to 3rd ch of beg ch 6, (12 dc)

Rd 3: ch 3, * 2dc in ch 3 sp, 1 dc in top of next dc, repeat from * around, end 2 dc in last ch 3 sp,  join. (36 dc)

Rd 4: ch 6, * skip 1 dc, 1 dc in next dc, ch 3, repeat from * around, join. ( 18 dc)

Rd 5: repeat round 3 (54 dc)

Rd 6: repeat round 4, (27 dc)

Rd 7: ch 3, * 3 dc in next ch 3 sp, 1 dc in next dc, repeat from * around, end 3 dc in last ch 3 sp, join. Fasten off variegated, attach solid. (108 dc)

Rd 8: ch 1, * skip 1 dc, 5 dc in next dc, skip 1 dc, 1 sc in next dc, repeat from * around, join, fasten off.

Pattern rows:

Row 2: k3 *P2, K2. Rep from * across, end row with P2, k 3

Row 3: as Row 1

Rows 4-6: k 3, purl across to next marker, k 3.

Repeats rows 1 to 6  6 times, then do rows 1 to 3 once.

Knit 4 rows, bind off.

For Sample: Cast on 18 stitches

Follow rows 1 to 4 until square.

For Pattern: Cast on 32

Rows 1 – 4 :  Knit

Work rows 1 to 4 of stitch pattern, keeping the 1 and last 3 stitches in plain knitting. Work until square or desired length, then knit 4 rows. Fasten off, weave in the ends.

Row 5: k 3, s m, p 2, k 2, across row, s m, k 3. turn.

Rows 6, 9, 10, 13, 14, 17, 18, 21, 22, 25, 26 , 29, 30, 33, 34, 37, 38, 41, 42, 45, 46:       repeat row 5. 

Rows  7, 8, 11, 12, 15, 16, 19, 20, 23, 24, 27, 28, 31, 32, 35, 36, 39, 40, 43, 44:   repeat row 4. K.

Rows 47 to 49: Knit, bind off after row 49. Weave in the ends of yarn.
