(yon  = yarn over needle)

For sample cast on 27 (5 x 5 = 25 + 2 = 27)

 Row 1: P 2, * yon, K 2 tog. through the back loops, K 1, P 2 *,

Row 2: K 2, * yon, K 2 tog. through the back loops, P 1, K 2 *.

Row 3: Rep. from row 1.
