Camille's Picot Scrunchie
@ 2010 by Camille Ummel

Materials: Small amount of your favorite yarn (I used America's Best 100% Cabled Cotton sz. 5    3 plied in Color #175-Fiesta) Elastic band (I used the skinny kind about 1 ½ inches in diameter, but any will do)

“I” hook or your preferred size (I crochet tightly so like the bigger hook) Yarn needle to weave in ends.

Directions:

Rd 1: Attach yarn to elastic band with a sl st. Sc around until it is full and you can't see the elastic band any more. Join to first sc with a sl st.

Rd 2: Ch 3. In back loops only, dc in each sc around.

Rd 3: Ch 1. Sc in same st. *Make picot (ch3, sl st in 1st chain), sc in next dc.* Repeat from * to * until last st. Sc in last dc, make picot. Join to first sc with a sl st. Finish off.

Rd 4: Attach yarn with a sl st in front loop of any sc in R1. Ch 3. Working in open loops of R1, dc in each sc around. Join to both loops in top of beg ch3 with a sl st.

Rd 5: Ch 1. Sc in same st. *Picot, sc in next dc.* Repeat from * to * until last st. Sc in last dc, make picot.

Full and Fluffy Lacy Scrunchie

Full and Fluffy Lacy Scrunchie @2001 by Cathy Hansen

Use whatever yarn you like for this scrunchie, along with the appropriate hook size.  I like to use Aunt Lydia's Denim crochet cotton with an "F" or "G" hook.

To begin:  Sc around an elastic hair tie (about 30 to 40 sc).

Row 1:  Ch 4 (counts as sc, ch 3);  * sc in next sc, ch 3 *; repeat from *  to *  around; join with sl st in first chain of first ch 4.

Row 2:  Sl st in next ch 3 sp; ch 4 (counts as dc, ch 1), dc in same ch 3 sp, ch 1; * (dc, ch 1) twice in next ch 3 sp *; repeat from * to * around; join with sl st in third ch of first ch 4.

Row 3:  Sl st in next ch 1 sp; ch 4 (counts as dc, ch 1), dc in same ch 1 sp, ch 1; * (dc, ch 1) twice in next ch 1 sp *; repeat from * to * around; join with sl st in third ch of first ch 4.

Row 4:   * Sl st in next ch 1 sp, ch 3 *; repeat from * to * around; join with sl st in joining.

End off and weave in ends.
