Baby Book# 339 from 1951

Infants

MATERIALS Bear Brand Winfant, 1 skein.

"Boye" Steel Hook, Size 2.

GAUGE: 8 se = 1 In, 7 clusters = 2 inches.

INSTEP AND TOP-Ch 2, work 10 Sc in first st of ch; 

join with slip st, 

Round 2-Cluster round-wrong side~Ch 2, turn; yo, draw bp a loop in first Sc, yo and through 2 loops on hook, * yo, draw up a loop in same st, yo,  through 2 loops; repeat from * twice, yo, through  all 5 loops on hook, ch 1 to fasten (a cluster St),  work 1 cluster in each of the next 9 Sc; 10 clusters;  join with slip st in top of ch 20 sts.

Note: Clusters are worked on wrong side.

Round 3-right side Ch 1, turn, 1 Sc in first st, * 2  sc in next st, 1 sc in next st; repeat from * 8 times, 2 Sc in last st; 30 Sc. Do not turn, continue around.

Next round~ *1 Sc in each of 7 sts, 3 dc in next st, 1 Sc in each of 6 sts, 3 dc in next st; repeat from * once, slip st in next st; 38 sts. Fasten off.

Ski Hat # 9

Ski Hat # 9 @2014 by N Banks

 

Materials needed

Size 5 & 7 circular needles
1 skein White and Raspberry Red Heart Sport Weight yarn
¼ skein Blue and Yellow Red Heart Sport Weight yarn
1 ball Lion Brand Trellis #305  (lacy ribbon yarn)
1 ball Fancy Fur in Pretty in Pink (an eye type yarn)
1 set size 7 double pointed needles
11 stitch markers
1 row counter

With size 5 needles and white yarn, cast on 108, join, being careful not to twist stitches.

Rds 1 to 8: K 2, P 2 around

Rd 9:  change to size 7 needles and knit, drop white

Rd 10-13: change to long eyelash and purl. After row 13, fasten off eyelash yarn.

Rd 14:  Knit with white.

Rd 15:  Knit, inc one stitch. Knit side is the outside of hat.


Now start row 1 of chart.  See below chart to finish.

READ  ROWS 36 TO 40 BEFORE STARTING CHART

Rd 36: knit with white, place markers every 12 stitches.  Slip markers as you come to them. (108 stitches)

Rd 37: knit, dec one stitch before each marker by knitting 2 together. Fasten off white, attach Raspberry.

Rd 38: With the raspberry knit, dec one stitch before each marker by knitting 2 together

Rd 39: Purl, dec one stitch before each marker by purling 2 together

Rd 40: Knit, dec one stitch before each marker by knitting 2 together.

Change to size 7 double pointed needles when needed.

Repeat row 40 until 2 stitches remains between markers.

Run yarn thru remaining stitches, draw up tight, run yarn thru again, fasten off weave in the threads.

Another hat

  Another hat finished, this time in Blue, Yellow and White, changed it a lot from the first one, and I really like this one much better. It...
