An even number of chain, for the afghan, chain 16, for the dishcloth, chain 26.
Row 1 1 sc in 2nd chain from the hook, * ch 1, skip 1ch, 1 sc in next ch, repeat from * across the row, ch 2, turn.
Row 2 1 sc in first ch 1-space, * ch 1, 1 sc in next sp, repeat from * across the row, end ch1, sc in last ch, ch 2, turn.
Row 3 1 sc in sc of row below, * ch 1, 1 sc in next sc on row below, repeat from * across, end ch 1, 1 sc in top of turning ch, ch 2, turn.
Repeat rows
2 & 3 for the pattern. Repeat until
square.
