Heather's Fall Afghan


April 2007 Crochet Pattern of the Month

This beautiful afghan was designed and donated to my list on yahoo and this blog by my sister Penney. Thank baby sister, you are great.

Scrap yarn, with two main colors. G hook



Row 1: (1 Sc in ring, ch 3) 4 times, join with Sl St in first Sc.

Row 2: Sl St into ch-3 sp, ch 3 to count as 1 dc, 2 dc, ch 3 & 3 dc  in same sp for corner, * 3 dc, ch 3 & 3 dc in next sp,  repeat from * twice. join with Sl St to top of ch-3. Fasten off. Attach another color,

 Row 3: With loop on hook, fsc in a corner ch-2 sp, ch 3, 1 sc in same sp, * ch 3, 1 sc between next 3rd and 4th dc's, ch 3, 1 Sc, ch 3 & 1 sc in corner, repeat from *, ending ch 3, join to first Sc. Fasten off, attach border color

Row 4: Sl St into corner ch-3 sp, ch 3 to count as 1 dc; 2 dc, ch 3 & 3 dc in corner, * 3 dc in each ch-3 sp to next corner; 3 dc, ch 3 & 3 dc in corner, repeat from *, ending 3 dc in last Sp, join to top of first ch-3. Fasten off

Make 176 squares in different color, sew together with 11 squares across the top and bottom, 16 squares down on both sides.
