Row 6: k 4, slip marker, knit across row, allowing extra loops to fall to their full length, slip marker, k 5.

Row 8: knit

Repeat pattern rows 1 to 6 once more. Knit 6 rows, removing markers on the 6th row.

To use the pattern in a design of your own, remember the edge stitches are not figured into the multiples of 8 + 1, just the stitches between the markers. So to use it you would use pattern rows 1 to 8 and not the edge stitches.

For knitting looms (Shawl requires 40 pegs, Blanket requires 80). Blanket is 20 x 20 or 27 x 27 inches depending on the yarn and gauge you use.  The Shawl about 18 wide x 56 inches long and you can make it longer.
