#4729 TATTED HANDKERCHIEF WITH CORNERS
Knitted Leg Warmers
1 Skein each:
Red Heart
310 Monet 358 Lavender
1 set #5 double pointed needles (or 5 straight needles)
1 set #8 double pointed needles (or 8 straight needles)
(see bottom of pattern)
On size 8 double pointed needles:
Using Straight Stitch 4 stitches equal one inch, and 5 rows equal one inch.
1. With Lavender, and #5 double pointed needles, cast on 32 stitches,
K2, P2 for 2 1/2 inches, change to size 8 double pointed needles,
and inc 10 stitches evenly around. (42 stitches)
2. Knit 6 rows in straight stitch, attach Monet, and work in pattern below.
3. Pattern: Starting with Monet, knit 2 rows, then work 4 rows in lavender, until you have repeat these rows, 9 times, (you'll have nine repeats of color monet.) (if you want leg warmers for a larger child, add more repeats of the pattern.
4. Fasten off Monet, and knit 6 rows of lavender, last row dec. 32 stitches., and do k2, p2 for 2 1/2 inches, Cast off very loosely, using the larger needles. You will want these to fit over the thigh or just under the knee.
This pattern can be worked on straight needles, just work back and forth, following the pattern, when done, sew back seam. Make 2.
