My Whole Wheat Sugar Cookies
Amy, you loved these as a kid. Hope you still like them.
1 cup sugar 1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg 1/2 cup margarine, softened
4 Tablespoons orange juice (may need a little more)
1 egg 2 cups whole wheat flour
2 tablespoons sugar 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Heat oven to 375. In large bowl, mix first nine ingredients. Blend by hand, till blended. Shape into 1 inch balls, place on ungreased cookie sheets, 2inches apart. Mix the 2 T. sugar and cinnamon together. Flatten slightly with fork, dipped in the sugar and cinnamon mixture. Bake 8-10 minutes, til light golden brown. (Cookies will be soft in center.) makes two-three dozen cookies.
This is a place for my knitting, sewing, crochet designs and projects. I have been knitting since I was 4, and crocheting since age 19 and I have starting weaving again, along with sewing. So this is where I will be posting those patterns too.

My Brownies
My Brownies
2/3 Cup cocoa 2/3 Cup salad oil
2 cups sugar 4 eggs
1 teaspoon Vanilla 1 ¼ cup flour
1 teaspoon Baking Powder ½ teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped walnuts
Grease 9x13 pan. Mix all ingredients, spread in greased pan. Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 325 degrees. Do NOT over bake, cool 10 minutes in pan, cut into squares.

In a 9x9 pan melt, 1/3 cup butter then to the melted butter add in pan 3/4 cup brown sugar, mix, then put 9 pineapple slices in pan, three in a row. Set aside, SAVE JUICE. Place one cherry in each pineapple center.
Cake:

3/4 cup pineapple juice 1/3 cup salad oil

Heat oven to 350. Mix all till smooth, pour into pan. Bake 35 to 45 minutes, watch your oven. Bake till it starts getting golden brown around the edges. Toothpick inserted in center will come out clean. . Invert onto plate. Leave pan over cake a few minutes. Serve warm or with whipped cream.

For my daughter Amy, this is the recipe that your dad and you kids liked when you were all little. I just used a white icing on it. I had changed this recipe some, but you all liked it.
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1 1/4 cups sugar
1/2 cup cocoa 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 1/4 teaspoons soda 1 cup sour milk (2 tablespoons vinegar, add milk to make one cup. Let stand for about 30 min. or while you grease and flour the pan/s)
2/3 cup salad oil 2 teaspoons vanilla
2 eggs
Heat oven to 350. Make sour milk. Prepare pan/s. Mix all together in large bowl.. Mix well. Pour in pan/s. Bake 25 to 30 min. till toothpick inserted in center, comes out clean. Cool in pan/s 5 min. Makes one 9 x 13 or two 8 inch cake.
