Crochet Potholder April 2014 Pattern of the Month


April 2014 Pattern of the Month Crochet

 Materials:
1 ball Peaches & Crème Cotton Yarn Sunburst #11
1 ball Peaches & Crème Cotton Yarn Sun flower # 196.
G Hook.

Use Crochet Hook, Size G or size required to obtain gauge

Chain 25.
Row 1: 1 hdc in 2nd chain from hook and in each chain across row. Turn.

Row 2: ch 2, in loop below back loop, work 1hdc in same place, and each hdc across row. Turn.

Row 3: ch 1, 1 sc in same place, and in each hdc across row. Turn.

Row 4: Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in first st, work a bead st as follows;–holding the loop on hook, insert hook in next st, yo and draw up a loop, ch 3 in this loop only for bead, yo and through the 2 loops on hook to complete bead, keep bead on right side of work, 1 sc in next st, * 1 bead st in next st, 1 sc in next st; repeat from * to end. Turn.

Row 5: ch 2, 1 hdc in each st across row. Turn.

Repeat rows 2 to 5 until you have 6 rows of row #4. Fastening off after row 4.

Repeat for back of potholder.

Edging:

Round 1: with wrong sides facing, sc in first corner, matching up row 4, sc down side evenly, place 3 sc in corner, sc across bottom, place 3 sc in next corner, work down side as before, join with slip stitch to first sc.

Round 2: * ch 4, 1 dc in same place, skip 2 sc, sc in next sc. Repeat from * around, at corners,  skip only 1 sc. Join to beginning sc. Fasten off. Weave in the ends of yarn.
