Baby Bootees


November 2011 Pattern of the Month Knit

Another one of the patterns I had made for my daughter when she was a baby. It's fast and easy. Enjoy


Materials:
4 ply yarn
size 4 knitting needles
36 inches of ½ ribbon, cut in half.
 

Cast on 26 stitches

Row 1: K2, P2,


Row 2: P2,  K2, for 1 inch, inc 1 stitch after the last row of ribbing. (27 stitches).


Row 3: Beading row: * K1, yo, k 2 tog.  repeat from * across row.


Rows 4, 6, 8: purl


Rows 5, 7: knit


Work Instep:

K 9, place last 9 stitches just knit on holder, knit to end of row, turn, 

P 9, place these 9 stitches on holder and work to end of row.   Work 16 rows on center 9 stitches, ending with a purl row. Cut yarn, turn.

Work Foot: 
K 9 stitches from holder, pick up and knit 8 stitches from side of instep, k 9 center sts, pick up and k 8 on side of instep, k 9 sts from holder. (43 stitches).

Work even (p 1 row, k 1 row) for 6 rows, ending with k row.

Decease row:
Row 1: p 1, p 2 tog, p16, p 2 tog, p1, p2 tog, p to last 3 stitches,  p2 tog., p 1. (39 stitches)

Row 2: knit

Row 3: p 1, p 2 tog, p 14, p 2 tog, p 1, p 2 tog, purl to last 3 stitches, p 2 tog, p 1. (35 stitches)

Finishing:
 Bind off, sew seams, run ribbon thru beading rows on booties.
