 January 2021 Pattern of the Month Knit

Materials

size 9 Knitting needles, 2 stitch markers, row counter

1 ball Bernat POP any color. this will use the first color in the center almost

up. You will have lots of yarn left over.


If you want a wider head band, add 3 or 6 stitches.

Cast on 15  ( 18 or 21)


Note: slip first stitch of each row.

Set up row: k 3, place marker, k to last 3 stitches, place marker, k 3

Knit 5 rows even. Slip markers as you come to them.

Row 1: k 3, slip marker (sm) * K 3 tog. (leave sts on left-hand needle) knit the first of 3 sts, k next 2 tog. tbl *. repeat from * across row, sm, k 3

Row 2: K 3, sm, purl across to last 3 stitches, sm, k 3.

Row 3: Knit

Row 4:  Knit  work very very loose

Repeat rows 1 to 4 twenty three times total. Then row 1 again. Knit 6 rows

Finishing:

 With right sides facing, do a 3 needle bind off. Weave in the ends of yarn.

Materials: American thread "De Luxe" crochet and knitting cotton,  article 346 9 balls white, 250 yards per ball
steel hook #7



Doily is about 25 1/2" x 31" without ruffles


Ch 39, dc in 7th st from hook, * ch1, skip 1 st of ch, dc in next st, repeat from * 15x.

Rd 2 sc into last mesh over the dc just made, *ch 25, sc in same mesh, repeat from * 6x, ch 20, 2 sc in each of the next 7 meshes, ch 20, sc in next mesh, * ch 25, sc in same mesh, repeat from *3x, ch 20, 2 sc in each of the next 7 meshes, ch 20, sc in corner mesh, * ch 25, sc in same mesh, repeat from * 7x, ch 20 and working on other side of meshes, work 2sc in each of the next 7 meshes, ch 20, sc in next mesh, * ch 25, sc in same mesh, repeat from * 3x, ch 20, 2sc in each of the next 7 meshes, ch20, sc in next mesh (corner) ch 25, sc in same mesh, break thread.

Rd 3 attach thread in 1st loop of center group on side, sc in same sp, * ch7, sc in next loop, repeat from * 4x, sc in 1st loop of end group, *ch 7, sc in next loop, repeat from * 8x, sc in 1st loop of next group at side, *ch 7, sc in next loop, repeat from * 4x, sc in 1st loop of end group, * ch7, sc in next loop, repeat from * 8x, join to 1st sc.

Rd 4 sl st to center of loop, * ch 10, sc in next loop, repeat from *all around, then without joining rows, work 3 more rows of 10 ch loops.

Next row *ch 30, sc in same loop, repeat from * 5x, 10sc in next loop, sc in next loop and work 6-30 chain loops in same loop, repeat from * all around, join and break thread. Attach thread in 1st long loop and work 10 ch loops over long loops and 3 ch loops between groups of long loops, sl st to center of loop and work a 10 ch loop in each 10 ch loop. Without joining rows, work 8 more rows of 10 chain loops.

Next row, ch 3, work 5dc in same loop, * ch 5, 5dc in next loop, repeat from * all around. Scallop sl st into loop, * ch10, sc in same loop, ch 10, sc in same loop, ch 10, sc in same loop, ch 10, sc in next loop, repeat from * all around and continue work without join rows. (pattern does not say how many rows)

Next row *ch10, sc in next loop, repeat form * all around and repeat the last row 12x, break thread.
