October 2009 Stitch of the Month Crochet
For sample chain 24
Based on a multiple of 5 chain plus 4.
Row 1: 2 dc in 4th ch from hook, * skip 4 ch, 5 dc in next ch for a shell, repeat from * across, end with skip 4 ch, work 3 dc in last ch, ch 3, turn. Turning ch-3 counts as first dc of next row.
Row 2: 1 dc in each dc across, end 1 dc in top of turning-ch, ch 3, turn.
Row 3: 2 dc in first dc, * skip 4 dc, 1 shell in next dc, repeat from * across, end skip 4 dc, 3 dc in turning-ch, ch 3, turn.
Repeat Rows 2 and 3 for pattern.
