February 2012 Pattern of the Month Crochet Ruffled Dishcloth

Materials:
Size G crochet hook
1 ball Peaches & Crème #10 Yellow
1 ball Peaches & Crème # 196 Sunflower

Makes 2 dishcloths.



Note: ch 5 or ch 4 counts as 1 dc + 2 chs or 1 dc + 1 ch.

With yellow ch 6, join to form ring.




Rd 1: ch 5, *1dc in ring, ch 2, repeat around from * 6 more times, join with slip stitch to 3 rd ch of beg ch 5. ( 8 dc & 8 ch 2)

Rd 2: ch 4, * 1 dc in next ch 2 sp, ch 1, 1 dc in next dc, ch 1, repeat from * around, join to 3rd ch of beg ch 4. (16 dc & 16 ch 1 sp. )

Rd 3: ch 5, *1 dc in next dc, ch 2, repeat around from *, join with slip stitch to 3 rd ch of beg ch 5. ( 16 dc & 16 ch 2 sp)

Rd 4: ch 4, * 1 dc in next ch 2 sp, ch 1, 1 dc in next dc, ch 1, repeat from * around, join to 3rd ch of beg ch 4. (32 dc & 32 ch 1 sp.)

Rd 5: ch 5, *1 dc in next dc, ch 2, repeat around from *, join with slip stitch to 3 rd ch of beg ch 5. ( 32 dc & 32 ch 2 sp).

Rd 6: ch 4, * 1 dc in next ch 2 sp, ch 1, 1 dc in next dc, ch 1, repeat from * around, join to 3rd ch of beg ch 4. (64 dc & 64 ch 1 sp.). Fasten off yellow, attach sunflower.

Rd 7: ch 3, 1 dc in each ch 1 space and dc around, join to top of ch 3, fasten off.

Repeat for second dishcloth.

Materials:

1 pair size 10 knitting needles

1 ball Peaches & Crème cotton yarn, any solid color.

 
Cast on 39 stitches

Rows 1 to 3, knit

Pattern:

Row 1: P 1, * P2, K 1, slip 1 purlwise, K1, repeat from * across row to last 3 stitches, P3.

Row 2: K3, *P3, K2 across row to last 5 stitches, P3, K 3.

Repeat rows 1 and 2 of pattern until 7 inches from beginning, end with row 1,

Now work 3 rows of plain knitting. Fasten off, weave in the threads.
