December 2009 Shells Stitch & Pattern of the month Crochet
Materials: G hook 1 ball Peaches & Crème Cotton Yarn
For sample: chain 21
Row 1: 1 sc in 5th from hook, * ch 5, skip 3 ch, 1 sc in next chain, repeat from * across row, ch 3, turn.
Row 2: 2 dc in first sp, then work 6 dc for a shell in each space, end 3 dc in last sp, ch 5, turn.
Row 3: 1 dc in base of ch-5, * ch 3; 1 dc, ch 1 & 1 dc in between 3rd and 4th dc's of shell, repeat from * across, end 1 dc, ch 2 & 1 dc in top of turning-ch, ch 3, turn.
Row 4: 2 dc in first sp, * in next 1 ch sp, work shell*, repeat from * across, end 3 dc in last sp, ch 5, turn.
Repeat Rows 3 and 4 for pattern.
Row 2: 2 dc in first sp, then work 6 dc for a shell in each space, end 3 dc in last sp, ch 5, turn.
Row 3: 1 dc in base of ch-5, * ch 3; 1 dc, ch 1 & 1 dc in between 3rd and 4th dc's of shell, repeat from * across, end 1 dc, ch 2 & 1 dc in top of turning-ch, ch 3, turn.
Row 4: 2 dc in first sp, * in next 1 ch sp, work shell*, repeat from * across, end 3 dc in last sp, ch 5, turn.
Repeat Rows 3 and 4 for pattern.
chain 26, work until you have 5 rows of shells, then work row 3 again. Do not turn, ch 1.
Round 1: 1sc evenly around, placing 3 sc in each corner, do not turn, ch 1.
Round 2: 1 sc in each single sc around, placing 3 sc in each corner. Fasten off, weave in the ends.
