Row 1: ch 17, 1 dc in 3rd ch from hook, 1 dc in
each chain across row, ch 2, turn. (16 dc)
Row 2: 1 dc in
next 2dc, * ch 3, skip 1 dc, 1 sc in next dc, (ch 5, skip 2 dc, 1 sc in next
dc) twice, ch 3, skip 1 dc, 1 dc in each of next 2 dc, 1 dc in top of turning
chain, Ch 2, turn
Row 3: 1 dc in
each of next 2 dc, * ch 3,1 sc in next ch-5 sp, ch 3, 1 sc in next ch-5 sp, ch
3; 1 dc in each of next 2 dc, 1 dc in top of turning chain, Ch 2, turn.
Row 4: 1 dc in
each of next 2 dc, * ch 3, 1 sc in next ch 3 sp, ch 5, 1 sc in ch 3 sp, ch 5, 1
sc in next ch 3 sp, ch 3, 1 dc in each of next 2 dc, 1 dc in top of turning
chain, Ch 2, turn.
Repeat Rows 3 & 4
for pattern until bookmark is 8 inches long, ending with row 3.
Last row: 1 dc in
next 2 dc, and in each chain and sc across row, 1 dc in each of next 3 dc.
Fasten off, weave in the ends.
