Star Cotton Yarn Art 75  1 sk each yellow and brown,
3 yards green    00 hook

Front:

With yellow ch 8, join to form a ring, * ch3, 3dc in ring, ch 3, turn.

Rw 2:  2 dc in same sp, 3 dc in each of the next 2dc, 3 dc in end ch, ch 3, turn.

Rw 3: 2 dc in same sp, 1 dc in each dc working 3 dc in end ch, ch 3, turn.

Rw 4:  same as last row, but ch 1 to turn.

Rd 5:  1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, 1 sdc in each of the next 2 sts, (sdc: yarn over hook insert in st, pull through,  yo, pull through all loops at onetime), 1 dc in each of the next 12 sts, 1 sdc in each of the next 2sts, 1 sc in each of the next 2sts, ch 1, turn.

Repeat last row twice, sl st down side of petal, sl st into ring, repeat from * twice, break yellow. Attach brown in ring, ch 3 and work 4 dc in ring, ch 3, turn.

Rw 6:  1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, 1 sdc in each of the next 2sts, 1 dc in each of the next 15 sts, 1 sdc in each of the next 2 sts, 1  sc in each of the next 2sts, ch 1, turn. Repeat last row twice, , break brown, attach brown in ring and work 1 more petal in same manner, break brown.

Work a row of sc around entire petal working yellow on brown petals and brown on the 3 yellow petals. With green embroider the yellow petals using long and short stitches (to look like stems on petals, pattern doesn't say what to embroider). Tack petals in position having the 2 brown petals at top.

Under section" with yellow ch 2, 8 sc in 2nd st from book, join in 1st sc.

Rw 2:  ch 1, and work 2 sc in each sc, do not join, place a marker at beginning of each row.

Rd 3:  working in sc, increase in every other sc.

Rd 4:  increase in every 3rd sc.

Rd 5: 1 sc in each of the next 2 sc, ch 8 for thumb open, skip 6 sc, 1 sc in each remaining sc.
 
Rd 6:  * 1 sc in next st, 2 sc in next st, repeat from * all around working on ch in same
manner.

Rd 7  & 8:  work even in sc.

Rd 9: increase in every 4th sc, work 3 more rows of sc increasing a sufficient number of times in each row to keep work flat, break yarn.

Thumb: with yellow work 16 (12) sc around thumb opening and without joining rows, work 6 (3) more rows even.

Next row decrease 4 (3) sts evenly spaced, the work 2 (1) rows even. Decrease every other st until 5 (3) sts remain, break yarn leaving an end. Thread into needle and draw together, fasten firmly.
