Row 1–wrong side Work 1
hdc in 3rd ch from hook, 1 hdc in each remaining ch; 34 hdc counting turning ch
as 1 hdc.
Row 2–Ch 5, turn, skip first hdc, † yo twice, insert hook in
back loop of next hdc, yo and draw up a loop–4 loops on hook, yo and draw
through 2 loops on hook–3 loops remaining on hook, yo, skip next 2 hdc, insert
hook in back loop of next hdc, yo and draw up a loop–5 loops on hook, * yo and
draw through 2 loops on hook *; repeat between *'s once more, mark last 2 loops
worked, off for center of cross st, repeat between *'s twice more–1 loop on
hook, ch 2, yo, insert hook through 2 marked loops, yo and draw up a loop–3
loops on hook, repeat between *'s twice–1 cross st made; repeat from † 7 times,
1 tr in top of turning ch; 8 cross sts, plus turning ch and 1 tr.
Row 3–Ch 2, turn, skip first tr, 1 hdc in next st, 2 hdc in
next ch-2 space, * 1 hdc in each of next 2 sts, 2 hdc in next ch-2 space;
repeat from * 6 times more, 1 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in top of turning ch; 34
hdc counting turning ch as 1 hdc.
Repeat rows 2 and 3 until
desired length, fasten off.
