For sample cast on 24 ( 2 x 9 = 18 + 6 = 24)

Row 1: K 2, *p 2, ssk, yo, k 3, yo, k2 tog; rep from *, ending with p 2, k 2.

Rows 2 & 4: P 2, *k 2, P 7; rep from *, ending with k 2, P 2.

Row 3: K 2, *p 2, k 2, yo, sl 1, k2 tog, psso, yo, k 2; rep from *, ending with p 2, k 2.

Repeat Rows 1-4 for pattern until desired length.
