Woven Scarf Two

Woven Scarf Two
 By N Banks 2018

This scarf was done for one of m nieces.

Materials and Equipment used:

Yarn used  Lion Brand Mandala Sphinx 1 ball
16 inch SampleIt loom
 7.5 dent heddle
2 shuttles
Warp length 86 inches, including loom waste and fringe.

Scarf is 7 inches wide and 70 inches long, including fringe.

Read all instructions and watch video before starting.

1. Find center of heddle and tie a string around it

2. Measure 3 1/2 inches each side of the center of the heddle and
place string around them

Watch this video to find out how to warp your loom without someone to
help you.

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0aFlG7294w

She shows you how to tie the ends on the loom and start weaving.
Here's one is you have someone to help you warp and change colors.

     https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fa1WrHOTjxY&t=86s

You warp lenth is 86 inches for this scarf. I like to do a header with
8 rows of waste yarn to close the "V".

3. Tie yarn to back tie bar and warp starting at left side of loom were
your marker is and warp across the heddle to the last marker. Be sure to
watch the video.

4. Start weaving and use a tape measure to mark your length and weave until
the scarf measures 25 inches long, then divide for the spilt in the center
by weaving across half your warp, and cut yarn leaving a 4 or 5 inch tail in the center

Start weaving on the remaining warp, but again leave a 4 or 5 inch tail   (center only ),
work this way until the slot is 4 inches long.   Every 4th row tie the center ends with an  over
hand knot on each side of the slot like the picture above.

Then start weaving the full width of your warp again. Weave until your scarf is 62 inches long.
Be sure and weave in your yarn ends. Remove from loom. Tie a knot of 4 to 6 threads very close
to the woven scarf ends for fringe, and trim  to 4 inches long. Wet finish your scarf.
