Amy's Scarf @2010 by N. L. Banks
This is a pattern I made for my daughter. With only a two row repeat, it's simple and works up fast into a beautiful scarf. You can make it longer by just keep repeating the two rows.

Row 1: 1 dc in 4th
chain from hook, and in next chain, skip 3 ch, in next chain work 3 dc, ch 3,
sc in top of last dc made, 3 dc for a picot shell, * skip 3 ch, 1 dc in next
ch, skip ch 3, 1 picot shell in next ch, repeat from * across row, end 1dc in
each of last 3 chains, ch 3, turn.
Row 2: 1 bps
ard next 2 dc, ch 2 * Skip 2 dc of first picot shell, * 1 sc in dc before
picot, ch 5, 1 sc in next dc after picot, ch 2,, 1 sc in single dc, ch 2,
repeat from * across, end ch 2, 1 bps ard next 2 dc, 1 dc in top of turning ch, ch 3, turn.
Row 3: 1 FPS
ard next 2 bps, * 1 picot shell in ch-5 loop, 1 DFPS around dc
of row 2, repeat from * across, end 1 FPS ard last 2 dc in 3rd ch st of
turning-ch, ch 3, turn.
Repeat
Rows 2 and 3 for pattern for 3 feet. Fasten off.
With
front facing you, reattach yarn to starting chain at right side, ch
3. 1FPS around next 2 dc, * Picot Shell
over picot shell, 1 DFPS around next dc, repeat from * once, shell over shell,
1FPS around next two dc, 1dc in next dc. Ch 3, turn.
Repeat
rows 2 and 3 for 3 feet, fasten off, weave in the yarn, and the scarf is now
finished.
