Based on multiples of 7   

 

Row 1: k 3, pm *P 1, P 2 tog, yo, k 1, yo, P 2 tog, P 1 *. Repeat from * to * across row, pm, k 3

Row 2: k 3, sm, Purl across row, sm, k3

 

Row 3: k 3, sm, Knit across row to next marker, sm, k 3.

 

Row 4: k 3, sm, Purl across row, sm, k3.

 

Repeat rows 1 to 4 for desired length

Materials:

G Hook
 2 balls Cream #3  1 Country Garden #167      Peaches & Crème by Elmore-Pisgah, Inc.




Using a G hook, and cream:

Rw 1  ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd chain from hook, join with slip stitch

Rw 2   ch 1, 2 sc in each sc. join with slip stitch (12sc)

Rw 3   ch 1, 1 sc in same place, (2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next 2 sc) around. join with slip stitch (16sc)
                                                                                                            
Rw 4   ch 2, 1 dc in same place, ( 2 dc in next sc, 1 dc in next sc,) around, end 3 dc in last sc,join with slip stitch (26dc)

Rw 5   ch 2, FPS around first dc, (1 dc in next dc, FPS around next dc) around, join with slip stitch (13 posts & 13 dc)

Rw 6   Ch 2, FPS around first post, 2 dc, FPS around next post, around. join with slip stitch ( 13 posts & 26dc)

Rw 7  Ch 2, FPS around first post, 3 dc, FPS around next post, around, join with slip stitch (13 posts & 39dc)

Rw 8 ch 2, FPS around first post, 4 dc, FPS around next post, around, join with slip stitch (13 post & 52 dc)

Rw 9 ch 2, FPS around first post, 5 dc, FPS around next post, around, join with slip stitch (13 posts & 65 dc)

Rw 10 Ch 2, FPS around first post, 2 dc, FPS around 3rd dc, 2 dc,  FPS around next post.,join with slip stitch (26 posts & 52 dc.)

Rw 11  Ch 2, FPS around first post, 3 dc, FPS around next post, around (26 posts & 78 dc),join with slip stitch Fasten off cream.

Repeat rows 1-11 for second half of pot holder.

Rw 12  Place pot holder together with posts facing outward, matching up the posts. Attach Country Gardens to the top of any post, ch2, 4 dc in same place, skip 1 dc, sc in next dc, skip 1 dc, 5 dc in tip of next post, around. Slip stitch to beg ch 2, chain 10 , slip stitch in same place to form hanger.

Repeat for rows 1-12 for the second pot holder.

chain 30

Set up row: 1 sc in second chain from hook and in each chain across row.

Row 1: 2 ch, * 00 yoh, insert hook in next sc, yoh, draw through loop, yoh, draw through 2 loops 00, repeat from 00 to 00 3 times, yoh, draw through 4 loops, 1 ch, skip 1 next sc *.  Repeat from * across row. Finish row with 1 dc in last sc.

 Row 2: 1 ch, * 1 sc in space, 1 sc in top of motif *, end 1 sc in top of turning chain 

Repeat from Rows 1 and 2,  9 times total, ending with row 2.

Fasten off, weave in the yarn ends.

Back Post Double Crochet #8

Back Post Double Crochet (Bpdc):

Any number of chains, for an afghan, chain 19,  for a dishcloth,  use 25. 

Chain 19, 1 dc in 4th chain from hook and in each chain across

row. Ch 2, turn. 

Row 1 *working in back of row just make, yo, insert hook from back

to front and to back again around the vertical post of stitch below,

yo (three loops on hook) and draw thread through two loops on hook,

yo, draw through two loops on hook. One loop remains. Bpdc completed

* Repeat from * to * across row.

Repeat row 1 until you have a square for the Afghan/dishcloth

and trim.

Materials: Karon simply soft grey Heather

Size G crochet hook

Scraps of black and peach yarn.

Yarn needle

Stuffing

Body: With grey, ch 2, 6 sc in 2^nd ch from hook. (mark ends of rnds, do not join rounds). (6 sc.)

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around (12 sc).

Rnd 3: (sc in 1 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around (18 sc).

Rnd 4: (sc in 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around (24 sc).

 Rnds 5 - 18: Sc even around. (24 sc).

Begin stuffing body

(Dec Rnds) Rnd 19: ( sc in 2 sc, sc 2 tog) around (18 sc).

Rnd 20: (sc in 1 sc, sc 2 tog ) around (12 sc).

Rnd 21: Stuff firmly before closing (sc 2 tog) around (6 sc). Sl st every 2^nd st to close, end off.

Legs: (make 4) With black start at hooves, ch 2, 6 sc in 2^nd ch from hook (6 sc).

Rnd 2: Sc in each sc around (6 sc). Change to grey.

Rnds 3 - 8: Sc even around (6 sc). Stuffing as you go. At end of rnd 8, end off leaving a length of yarn to sew legs to body.

Neck: Ch 8, sl st tog to form a ring. Ch 1, sc in each ch around (8 sc).

Rnd 2:  sc in each sc around (8 sc).

Rnd 3: Sc in each sc around (8 sc).

Rnd 4: sc in 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc, twice (10 sc).

Rnd 5: Sc in 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc, twice (12 sc).

Rnd 6:  sc in 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc, twice (14 sc). End off leaving length to sew onto body. Stuff neck

Head: Ch 2, 6 sc in 2^nd ch from hook (6 sc).

Rnd 2: Sc in 1 sc, 2 sc in next sc, around (9 sc).

Rnd 3: sc even.

Rnd 4: Sc in 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc (12 sc)

Rnds 5 - 7: Sc even (12 sc)

Rnd 8: sc in 4 sc, 2 sc in each of next 4 sc, sc in last 4 sc. (16 sc).

Rnds 9 - 11: Sc even (16 sc). Begin stuffing head.

Rnd 12: Sc in 3 sc, 2 sc tog, 3 times, sc in last sc. (13 sc).

Rnd 13: Sc in 2 sc, 2 sc tog, 3 times, sc in last sc (10 sc).

Rnd 14: Sc in 1 sc, sc 2 sc tog, 3 times, sc in last sc (7 sc). Sl st every st tog. Break off, sew head to top of neck. Sew legs onto body.

Tail: At top rear of goat make 3 sc into body, ch 1, turn.

Row 2: 3 sc across, ch 1, turn.

Row 3: Dec, sc in next sc, ch 1, turn.

Row 4: Dec and end off.

Udder: with Flesh or light peach, ch 2, work 6 sc in 2^nd ch from hook.

Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each around (12 sc).

Work 2 rnd even, end off leaving long tail for sewing.

Teats: (make 2) Attach peach yarn to one inside part of udder with sl st, ch 5 and sl st into same place. End off.

Hide ends, attach yarn to other side and repeat for 2^nd teat. Stuff udder and sew in place.

Omit udder if making Billy Goat.

Ears: (make 2): Ch 5, sc in 2^nd ch from hook and each ch to end, going down opposite side of ch, sc in each ch to end. End off leaving length for sewing. Sew ears to top of head.

Horns: (make 2) Ch 2 with black. 4 sc in 2^nd ch from hook (4 sc). Sc around 3 rows even. End off and sew to top of head.

Features: With black yarn (0r use small black beads) embroider eyes, pulling slightly to indent face to make more narrow. Embroider nose and mouth.

 If making a Billy goat omit udder and place several body colored strands under chin for goatee.

Row 6:  Knit 3, s m *p 1, p2 tog, p 6 , sm, * knit 3       

Row 7:   Knit 3, s m * K5, K2 tog, m 1, k 1 tbl, m1 sm, * knit 3

Repeat rows 1 to 12 one more time,  Knit 6 rows, on the 6^th, decease 1 stitches and remove markers
